How close to the house can I put it? Can I put my it under my covered porch?
Check with your local fire codes for outdoor gas appliances. The current safety rating calls for 24 inch radius from combustable material and 80 inches from the top of the table.
Is the table CSA or ANSI tested or rated?
Yes, Littlefoot has been tested in accordance with ANSI and CSA standards by an accredited hearth industry testing lab. Standards are for an decorative outdoor gas appliance - the same as a patio heater.
How do I care for my Bigfoot?
He can handle all the elements but best to keep him under cover when not in use. Long term exposure can lead to a lightening of the wood color. The burned cedar is also treated with a clear Penofin sealing oil that you can reapply if it's "coat" ever looses it's luster. Cedar is a very soft and supple wood which makes it perfect for outdoor furniture but it can be scratched or marked easily.
Why does your fire table look like a sawhorse?
Hey, Littlefoot is very sensitive about his looks. But seriously safety is our primary concern, and function dictates form. Having a wide stable base makes tipping it over very unlikely. Also, the open bottom means propane gas, which is heavier than air cannot accumulate in the event of a leak. If you do smell propane do not use until the leak is fixed.

What does it burn?
Our firetables connect to your 20lb BBQ propane tank and blast 54,000 BTUs of heat. Currently, we are not offering a natural gas option.
How do you light it?
Always keep your head and hair away from stove when lighting. Like your gas stove or BBQ, the tables have a piezoelectric lighting system and knob controlled variable flame intensity. Press control knob in and to the Lightning bolt while pressing the Igniter (lightning bolt) button above. If ignition is not immediate gas can accumulate in the pan and ignite with a FLASH. Use caution and always allow fumes to dissipate when ignition is not immediate. a long lighter stick can be used as a back up.
I press the igniter button but nothing happens?
If you don't hear a clicking sound, it may mean the battery inside the igniter button needs to be replaced. Stones can also block the spark. The igniter wire may also be unplugged from the back of the control panel. As a back up, a long lighter can be used to ignite the table.
Why do some firestones turn black?
Soot happens! Outdoor gas fire features are subject to breezes which can cause inefficient combustion and soot to occur in pockets occasionally. Propane also has a higher carbon content than Natural Gas so will generate more soot. Soot will burn itself off or can also be rinsed off with water when the stones are cool.
Why do I sometimes have trouble lighting my table on cold mornings?
Our tables are built with a safety thermocouple that will shut off the gas if the flame goes out. If the fire goes out when you release the knob, it means the thermocouple hasn't warned up enough. This can be due to cold or stone placement blocking the flame. Check for a stone blockage in the spark protection cage and hold the knob in longer to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
Can I operate my firetable indoors?
No! Our firetables are for outdoor use only. Unvented spaces can accumulate dangerous Carbon Monoxide. Our indoor version is in the design process. It will use a bio fuel and will be able to be used indoors and out.
Can I cook on these tables?
Our tables are not certified to be used for cooking. Good luck stopping your guests.
How long will a tank of propane last?
Like your BBQ, it depends entirely on usage. At full blaze, a 20lb propane tank will last 8 hours, and 16 hours with minimum flame.
Are these tables environmentally friendly?
Wood is the ultimate recyclable material and our treatment of the cedar allows for the very longest possible lifespan. We have designed our firetables to use commonly available components so that in the event a part needs replacing, you won't have buy a whole new table.
